  what logical reason could they have had to skip a number.

  is the number 151 now an evil number accordig to new light?

  I'm gonna go out on a reasonable limb and speculate that it is 'special' and is being saved for the annual meeting. Perhaps it deals directly with new light that will be explained there. Who knows.

  was there some sort of change recently in the guidelines cult hq lays out on how to handle inactive apostates?

  my parents tried to start a study with me the week after they came back too.

  i would appreciate knowing from someone in the know if the goofy carts and rain covers are given to the congregation by the org.

  or if the congregation has to pay the org for them.

  i am sure i read that somewhere here in my lurking days, but am not finding it at present.. if the congregation is billed for it i intend to use that as a reason for my continued refusal to donate anything from now on.. thanks in advance..

  Thanks darkspilver I missed that. However it says:

  'The congregation MAY be informed that the cost of these carts will be covered by their contributions to the worldwide work. '

  Does that mean they may also be given a required amount if their donations aren't high enough?

  Yes there are fixed costs for everything (somebody's gotta pay for it, right?) The Lit-carts ® cost $40 a piece and you are required to buy them in pairs for $80. There is also a catalog of all kinds of accessories, which may include covers, etc. Not sure about pricing.

  but something else i've heard is that the video was meant to be figurative, an illustration representing the 'interior rooms' prophecy..

  I have the official prerecorded videos of both upcoming Circuit Assemblies for next service year from JW Stream. I looked all throughout the program and couldn't find anything like this, but maybe I missed it (I doubt it though). Hopefully I'll get the files to WiFi bandit, if he doesn't have them already.

  the scripture quotes aside, i was always told that we don't celebrate birthdays because that is a celebration of the self, which has no place in jehovah's organization.

  then why celebrate anniversaries?

  anniversary celebrations are about the joining of two selves, isn't that twice as selfish?.
